Saving energy in the vehicle really helps when kinetic energy can be stored in the vehicle. Strukton Rolling Stock has developed a concept for retaining kinetic energy (brake energy) using lithium-ion cells. The saved brake energy can be used for accelerating, driving without catenary and for the power supply of electrical board systems.
