Strukton Rail wins contract for Oslo metro line

On 12 June, KTP AS and Strukton Rail signed the contract for the construction of a new third rail and renewal of the existing metro line in Oslo. The Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 will take place at the Holmenkollen Ski Jump in Oslo. Public transport operator SKA wants to provide for a good connection between the city of Oslo and the ski jump. The construction of the new third rail and rehabilitation of the tracks is to facilitate for the new MX 3000 trains that will run when the Ski Championships start in 2011.

The contract sum for this ‘Holmenkollbanen’ contract is approximately 11 million euro, a bit over 3 million of which is to be spent during 2009. The project will start on 17 June. the line will be closed for traffic during the summer.
