The VRB 17 KL automatic assembly wagons can be used for catenary repair and maintenance. The wagons have two platforms, one large and limited to vertical motion, and one small. The small platform at the front of the wagon has a working height up to 8.2 metres and a reach of 2.6 metres outside the track.
The automatic assembly wagon has an operating station able to accommodate two passengers.
