The track renewal train is capable of replacing sleepers and rails in a single process. It is equally suitable for replacing sleepers only. New sleepers are brought in and old sleepers removed by one or two gantry cranes. The gantry cranes carry 30 sleepers on each trip, and work in conjunction with special sleeper wagons.
The machine is able to handle wood, concrete and steel sleepers.
