Maintenance

Strukton Rail has a maintenance service unit that maintains not only the company's own machines and equipment, but also provides services for third parties.

The maintenance service unit is supported by Strukton Rail's systems that remotely monitor the status of the vehicles and show the results online. The systems watch the vehicles and alert the service department and engine driver in case of possible defects.

Online Monitoring

The availability of track is becoming increasingly important. More and more maintenance contracts are concluded on the basis of output (availability of the system). This makes continuous monitoring of the rail system indispensable. Strukton’s preventive maintenance and breakdown diagnosis system POSS makes this possible. See www.possinfo.com for more information about POSS.

Video inspection

The track is visually inspected (surveyed) on a daily basis. This is traditionally done manually. We have developed stationary and mobile camera systems to replace the traditional inspection.

Measuring and inspection trains

We have measuring and inspection trains. They inspect and measure objects including track geometry, overhead wires and points. By linking to GPS positioning, the current situation can be monitored at a detailed level.

Data analysis

By linking and analysing all the measurement, inspection and maintenance information in our databases, we can get a full picture of the condition of the infrastructure. This enables us to optimise maintenance not only for the short term, but also for the long term.

Maintenance concept

Based on our years of experience with track maintenance in Europe, we have developed a unique vision on maintenance management. This means maintenance is carried out to best effect, based on the customers’ requirements.
